Toyota Frontlander export to Russia

Russia drives on the right and shares a long land border with China, so Frontlanders can move by rail, road or sea. Compliance follows the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) technical rules.

How are vehicles shipped from China to Russia?

Three routes are common: rail in car-carrier wagons or containers across land border crossings, road on car-carrier trucks, and sea to Vladivostok and other Far East ports. We recommend the route based on your city, volume and timing.

Which technical rules apply?

Vehicles must comply with the EAEU technical regulation TR CU 018/2011 “On the safety of wheeled vehicles”. Depending on the import scheme, this is confirmed by a vehicle type approval or a vehicle design safety certificate, and the vehicle receives an electronic vehicle passport (EPTS).

Russia also charges a recycling (utilisation) fee on imported vehicles, which has increased significantly in recent years and depends on engine size, power and the importer type. Because fees often rise with power, check the calculation for both the hybrid and petrol Frontlander before choosing.

Which Frontlander suits Russian buyers?

Most orders are for the new 2026 model or recent 2024 units. Ask about cold-climate needs before ordering; heated exterior mirrors are fitted on the 2026 model.
