Toyota Frontlander export to the UAE and Dubai

Dubai is both a market and a re-export hub. Frontlanders arriving at Jebel Ali are sold locally or re-exported to Africa, Central Asia and other Gulf states.

Why import through Jebel Ali?

Jebel Ali Port, operated by DP World, is the main gateway for vehicles into Dubai and handles both Ro-Ro and container cargo. Vehicles destined for re-export can be held in free-zone areas. Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port is an alternative for buyers in the capital.

What duties apply?

The UAE applies the GCC common customs tariff, generally 5% of the CIF value for passenger cars, plus 5% VAT. Vehicles re-exported from free zones follow different rules. Our UAE import guide walks through FOB vs CIF and Jebel Ali clearance in detail.

Specification and registration

Vehicles registered in the UAE must meet the country’s conformity requirements, overseen by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). China-market vehicles may need a conformity assessment before registration; your broker or dealer will advise on the current process.

For local retail, buyers mostly choose the new 2026 Frontlander. Re-exporters often add used 2024 units for African customers.
