The 2023 Toyota Frontlander arrived in China in spring 2023 and introduced the 2.0-litre self-charging hybrid alongside the petrol engine. Today we supply it as used, inspected vehicles, an efficient way for importers to offer a recent Toyota SUV at a lower price than a new car.

Hybrid versions combine the M20F 2.0-litre engine with an 83 kW electric motor for 144 kW of system power and WLTC fuel consumption of 4.57–4.58 L/100 km. Petrol versions use the 126 kW M20C engine with a 10-step CVT. Both are front-wheel drive with a 2,640 mm wheelbase and 180 km/h top speed.
From the Leading trim upward, the 2023 model includes Toyota Safety Sense with full-speed adaptive cruise and lane-keeping assistance. A 10.25-inch touchscreen with CarPlay, HiCar and CarLife is standard across the range, and the Prestige trims add 360° cameras, a panoramic sunroof and rear side airbags.
Exterior colours include striking black-roof two-tones such as Black / Amber Gold and Black / Coral Red, which differentiate the Frontlander on a used-car lot from the many silver and white SUVs it competes with.
