2026 Toyota Frontlander — front three-quarter view, Platinum Pearl White, compact SUV for export
1 of 10

The 2026 Toyota Frontlander is the current-generation model built by GAC Toyota in Guangzhou and launched in China in September 2025. We supply it brand-new (0 km) in left-hand drive, in hybrid and petrol versions, for dealers, fleet operators and trading companies.

Why the 2026 Frontlander sells in export markets

The 2026 update is the biggest change since the Frontlander launched. The front end adopts Toyota’s new “hammerhead” design with slim LED headlights, and the cabin moves to a 12.9-inch floating touchscreen (10.25-inch on entry trims) with an 8.8-inch driver display and a Snapdragon 8155 infotainment chip on most trims. For a buyer in Riyadh, Almaty or Accra, it reads as a new car, not a carry-over.

Under the skin the recipe is unchanged in the best way: Toyota’s 2.0-litre Dynamic Force engine family, front-wheel drive, MacPherson front suspension and a 2,640 mm wheelbase shared with earlier model years. Parts commonality with the wider Corolla Cross family makes the Frontlander easier to service than many newer Chinese brands — an argument dealers can use on the showroom floor.

The hybrid now produces a combined 147 kW (200 PS), up from 144 kW on the 2024 model, and returns 4.56–4.58 L/100 km on the WLTC cycle. The petrol version keeps the 171 PS 2.0-litre engine with a CVT that simulates 10 steps. Both run on RON 92 petrol or higher, which matters in markets where 95-octane fuel is not available everywhere.

Every 2026 trim includes Toyota Pilot level-2 driver assistance with full-speed adaptive cruise, lane-centring and autonomous emergency braking, plus a reversing camera, keyless entry and start, and LED matrix headlights on all but the two entry petrol trims. That standard equipment level is what makes the 2026 model attractive for ride-hailing and corporate fleets as well as retail.

Hybrid or petrol: which 2026 Frontlander should you order?

Choose the hybrid when fuel cost dominates the buyer’s decision: taxi and ride-hailing fleets, high-mileage corporate cars and markets with expensive petrol. The self-charging system needs no plug and no charging infrastructure, and the lithium-ion battery is recharged by the engine and regenerative braking.

Choose the petrol version when purchase price and simplicity matter most, or where local workshops have little hybrid experience. The 2.0-litre M20C engine is well known across the Toyota network and the 47-litre tank gives a longer range between fill-ups than the hybrid’s 36-litre tank. See our hybrid vs petrol comparison for a dealer-focused breakdown.

Questions buyers ask about this model

Is the 2026 Toyota Frontlander available in right-hand drive?

The China-market Frontlander is built in left-hand drive only. It suits all markets that drive on the right, including the GCC, Russia, Central Asia, North Africa and most of West Africa and Latin America.

What changed between the 2024 and 2026 Frontlander?

The 2026 model has a new front design, a larger 12.9-inch touchscreen on most trims, Toyota Pilot L2 driver assistance on every trim and a more powerful 147 kW hybrid system. Dimensions grow slightly to 4,490 × 1,825 × 1,625 mm. Compare it with the 2024 Frontlander.

Does the Frontlander hybrid need charging?

No. It is a self-charging hybrid (HEV). The battery is charged by the engine and by regenerative braking, so buyers do not need any charging equipment.

How do I get a price for the 2026 Frontlander?

Send us your destination country, quantity, trim and colour through the quote form or on WhatsApp. We reply within 24 hours with an FOB or CIF quotation.
